S&P: Hawaiian Telcom view negative

Standard & Poor's said it revised its outlook on Hawaiian Telcom Communications Inc. to negative from stable because of continuing operating difficulties. The agency affirmed the B- corporate credit and senior secured ratings and CCC senior unsecured ratings.

Hawaiian Telcom's liquidity remains adequate in the near term, according to the agency. But even with potential debt reduction, its debt-to-EBITDA ratio is expected to remain elevated at close to 6 times, S&P said, unless the company can improve EBITDA through continued cost cutting and revenue stabilization.
