Moody's rates Hawaii G.O. bonds Aa2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an Aa2 rating with stable outlook to the State of Hawaii's general obligation bonds of 2008.

The issue includes $375 million of series DK tax-exempt new money, $27 million of series DL tax-exempt refunding and $25 million of series DM taxable new money.

Moody's also said it affirmed the Aa2 rating and stable outlook on Hawaii's approximately $4.4 billion of outstanding G.O. bonds.

Sale of the bonds is expected on May 7.
