Harley-Davidson launches $500 million issue of notes, pricing expected Wednesday

By Andrea Heisinger

Omaha, Dec. 4 - Harley-Davidson Motor Co. launched a $500 million issue of notes Tuesday, market sources said.

It will likely price Wednesday, a source added.

The notes had price talk of Treasuries plus 165 basis points, which increased to Treasuries plus 175 bps and then Treasuries plus 190 bps, a market source said.

There were likely problems selling the issue to investors, the source said.

Bookrunners for the issue are J.P. Morgan Securities Inc., Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and BNP Paribas Securities Corp.

The motorcycle company is based in Milwaukee.
