Happy Kids requests extension of exclusive periods

Pittsburgh, April 11 - Happy Kids Inc. requested an extension of its exclusive periods to file its plan of reorganization and solicit acceptances of the plan in a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

A hearing on the motion has been scheduled for April 21.

Happy Kids is a New York-based designer and marketer of children's apparel. Declining sales and being overleveraged for several years led Happy Kids to file for bankruptcy on Jan. 4. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-10016.
