Hanjin Shipping eyes enforcement of $7 million property sale order

Pittsburgh, Feb. 21 – Hanjin Shipping Co., Ltd.’s foreign representative asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey to recognize and enforce a $7 million asset sale order entered by the Seoul Central District Court.

Foreign representative and liquidating trustee Jin Han Kim said a sale of Hanjin’s real property in Alpharetta, Ga., to LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc. was approved by the Korean court on Jan. 10.

Hanjin, a marine transportation services company based in Seoul, South Korea, filed bankruptcy on Sept. 2, 2016. The Chapter 15 case number is 16-27041.
