Guggenheim Series 879 registers International Dividend Strategy units

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, March 28 - Guggenheim Defined Portfolios, Series 879 has registered units of its Guggenheim International Dividend Strategy Portfolio, Series 15, according to an S-6 amendment filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The depositor is Lisle, Ill.-based Guggenheim Funds Distributors, Inc.

The trust will seek to provide total return primarily through capital appreciation and dividend income by investing in a diversified portfolio of international equity securities listed on major public U.S. securities exchanges. The trust will seek to capture international growth potential while applying dividend income to counterbalance global economic volatility and insulate the trust from further potential domestic slowdown.

Each $10 unit will carry a maximum sales fee of 2.95%, which is comprised of an initial sales fee of 1%, a deferred sales fee of 1.45% and a creation and development fee of 0.5%. Sales charge reductions up to 1.5% of the public offering price are available based on the amount of the investment.

The trust will terminate in about 15 months after its inception date.
