Sumitomo Life Insurance to redeem 6.5% step-up callable notes due 2073

Lexington, Ky., July 28 – Sumitomo Life Insurance Co. issued a notice of redemption to noteholders of a portion of the $1 billion outstanding principal amount of its 6.5% step-up callable subordinated notes due 2073 (Cusips: 86564CAA8, J77549AA1), according to a notice.

The Rule 144A and Regulation S notes will be fully redeemed on Sept. 20 at par plus accrued interest totaling $32.50 per $1,000 of notes.

Bank of New York Mellon is the trustee and paying agent.

Interest on the notes will cease to accrue on the redemption date.

The mutual life insurance company is based in Osaka, Japan.
