MetLife to redeem 5.25% fixed-to-floating rate preferreds

Columbus, Ohio, May 17 – MetLife, Inc. will redeem all outstanding shares of its 5.25% fixed-to-floating rate non-cumulative preferred stock, series C, with a liquidation preference of $1,000 per share, according to a press release.

The shares will be redeemed at par on the June 15 dividend payment date, when regular quarterly dividends will be paid separately.

The insurance and employee benefits company is based in New York City.
