Brookfield plan to allow for special purchase of class A preferreds

Norfolk, Va., June 21 – Brookfield Renewable Power Preferred Equity Inc. will enter into an automatic purchase plan with its designated broker, allowing for purchases of preferred shares when it ordinarily would not be active in the market due to its own internal trading black-out period, insider trading rules or otherwise

The move is in connection with Brookfield’s previously announced normal course issuer bid to purchase up to 10% of the public float of each series of its outstanding class A preference shares listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, according to a company news release. The series 14 preference shares are excluded.

Under its normal course issuer bid for preferred shares which expires Aug. 11, the company is authorized to the preferred shares as follows:

• 1,022,579 of its 10,465,100 outstanding series 2 shares;

• 398,800 of its 4 million outstanding series 4 shares;

• 165,139 of its 1,652,394 outstanding series 8 shares;

• 285,450 of its 6,347,606 outstanding series 9 shares;

• 880,020 of its 9,999,000 outstanding series 13 shares;

• 800,000 of its 8 million outstanding series 17 shares;

• 781,433 of its 8 million outstanding series 18 shares;

• 1.1 million of its 11 million outstanding series 24 shares;

• 1 million of its 10 million outstanding series 26 shares;

• 940,000 of its 9.4 million outstanding series 28 shares;

• 1 million of its 10 million outstanding series 30 shares;

• 1.2 million of its 12 million outstanding series 32 shares;

• 1 million of its 10 million outstanding series 34 shares;

• 800,000 of its 8 million outstanding series 36 shares;

• 800,000 of its 8 million outstanding series 37 shares;

• 800,000 of its 8 million outstanding series 38 shares;

• 1.2 million of its 12 million outstanding series 40 shares; and

• 1.2 million of its 12 million outstanding series 42 shares.
