Greenberg Traurig names Cousins as head of Delaware bankruptcy group

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., April 8 - Greenberg Traurig LLP said Scott Cousins has joined its Wilmington office as a co-managing shareholder and as the head of the Delaware bankruptcy team.

Cousins, who is rejoining Greenberg Traurig after working as general counsel of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, will also be an integral member of the firm's global business reorganization and bankruptcy practice, as well as the global energy practice.

Cousins first joined Greenberg Traurig in 1999 as the founder and managing shareholder of the firm's Wilmington office. He was the managing shareholder of that office for six years.

For the past four years, Cousins oversaw all legal aspects relating to NextEra Energy's activities.

"We are all excited about Scott's decision to rejoin our firm. His unique depth of experience in restructurings and energy makes the timing of his return ideal given the needs of our clients and firm in this economic environment," Greenberg Traurig's president Richard A. Rosenbaum said in a press release.

Greenberg Traurig is a New York-based law firm.
