California State Public Works defeases four lease revenue bond series

Norfolk, Va., Nov. 24 – The State Public Works Board of the State of California defeased four series of lease revenue bonds, according to multiple notices.

The board’s Department of Mental Health defeased $24,205,000 of its 2001 series A bonds issued for the hospital addition at Atascadero State Hospital. The bonds are due Dec. 1, 2014 through 2017, 2021 and 2026. Bonds due in 2014 will be redeemed at their maturity, and the bonds due 2015 and later will be redeemed at par plus accrued interest on Dec. 1, 2015.

The Department of Corrections defeased $63.42 million of its 2002 series A bonds issued for 10 administrative segregation housing units. The bonds, which are due March 1, 2015 through 2022 and 2027, will be redeemed at par plus accrued interest on Jan. 1, 2015.

The Department of General Services defeased $32,425,000 of its 2002 series B bonds issued for the Teale Data Center project. The bonds, which are due March 1, 2015 through 2022 and 2027, will be redeemed at par plus accrued interest on Jan. 1, 2015.

The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation defeased $146.25 million of its 2005 series J bonds issued for the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison at Corcoran. The bonds, which are due Jan. 1, 2017 through 2021, will be redeemed at par plus accrued interest on Jan. 1, 2016.

The Treasurer of the State of California is the escrow agent and trustee.
