Alcatel-Lucent accepts €210.39 million tendered 8½% notes for purchase

Madison, Wis., July 3 – Alcatel-Lucent said it accepted for purchase all €210,391,000 of 8½% notes due 2016 tendered under its cash tender offer that began on June 24.

The company offered to purchase any and all of its outstanding €424,757,000 8½% notes at 111.75 plus accrued interest.

The deadline for tendering notes was 11 a.m. ET on July 2.

Tenders had to be for a minimum of €50,000 of notes and in general could not be revoked.

Following settlement of the offer on July 4 and cancellation of the purchased notes, there will be €194,966,000 principal amount outstanding.

The €424,757,000 principal amount outstanding at the beginning of the offer included €19.4 million principal amount that the company recently repurchased and intends to cancel, a previous press release noted.

Alcatel-Lucent said the purpose of the Regulation S offer is to proactively manage upcoming redemptions of its debt and its overall debt maturity profile.
