Midday Commentary: Investment-grade bond market flat; Berkshire Hathaway notes improve

Tupelo, Miss., Aug. 7 - Berkshire Hathaway Finance Corp.'s two tranches of senior notes (A2/AA/) traded 2 basis points to 3 bps better early Wednesday after pricing the previous day, a market source said.

The Omaha-based holding company sold $600 million of 0.95% notes due 2016 at Treasuries plus 37 bps.

The company's $400 million tranche of 2% notes due 2018 priced at Treasuries plus 65 bps.

The Markit CDX Series 20 North American Investment Grade index eased 2 bps from Tuesday to a spread of 75 bps.
