Granite Broadcasting U.S. Trustee unable to find enough members for creditors committee

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Jan. 30 - Granite Broadcasting Corp.'s U.S. Trustee was unable to appoint an official committee of unsecured creditors for the company's Chapter 11 case, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

U.S. Trustee Diana G. Adams said an insufficient number of eligible creditors were willing to be on the committee.

Adams said she contacted the company's 20 largest unsecured creditors to determine their willingness to make up the committee.

Granite, a New York-based owner and operator of network-affiliated television stations, made a prepackaged Chapter 11 filing on Dec. 11. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-12984.
