GS Finance plans to price leveraged notes linked to Euro Stoxx 50

Tacoma, Wash., March 8 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged notes due March 29, 2017 linked to the Euro Stoxx 50 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 300% of the index return, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $1,234 per $1,000 principal amount of notes. If the index return is negative, investors will be fully exposed to the decline.
The index’s final level will be the average of its closing levels on the five trading days ending March 24, 2017.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter with J.P. Morgan Securities LLC as agent.
The notes will price March 11.
The Cusip number is 40054K6A9.
