DBRS confirms AltaLink

DBRS said it confirmed the ratings of AltaLink, LP, including the medium-term notes rating at A and the commercial paper rating at R-1 (low) with stable trends.

The agency also confirmed the issuer rating and the senior unsecured bonds rating of AltaLink Investments, LP at BBB.

DBRS said the confirmations reflect the company’s low-risk regulated transmission business in Alberta, supported by a reasonable regulatory environment.

Financial metrics, previously stressed by the Alberta Electric System Operator directed capital expenditures big build program, have largely normalized with the end of the program, the agency explained.

DBRS said it views the quality of the regulatory regime in Alberta as generally supportive of the current ratings.
