DBRS confirms AltaLink

DBRS said it confirmed the ratings of AltaLink, LP’s secured medium-term notes at A and commercial paper at R-1 (low), both with stable trends.

The agency said the confirmations reflect AltaLink’s low-risk regulated transmission business in Alberta, supported by a reasonable regulatory environment.

Financial metrics, which DBRS said it viewed as temporarily stressed due to high capital expenditures as part of the Alberta Electric System Operator’s directed build program, have returned to levels consistent with the rating category this year as the program winds down.
