White & Case promotes partners Jonathan Bloom, Colin Chang and Daniel Nam to high yield practice

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., Feb. 6 - White & Case LLP announced in a press release it has expanded its high yield practice through the promotion of three new partners: Jonathan Bloom and Colin Chang in London and Daniel Nam in New York.

Bloom will concentrate on corporate finance and U.S. securities law, representing both issuers and underwriters in a variety of debt and equity financing transactions, including high-yield debt offerings, initial public offerings, secondary offerings, acquisition financings and recapitalizations.

Chang is a U.S. securities lawyer specializing in underwriter and issuer representation in high-yield debt offerings, with emphasis on leveraged buyout financings. He has also represented clients in a range of structured finance products, including cross-border leveraged leases, securitizations, credit default swaps and conduit financings.

Nam specializes in corporate finance transactions and general securities and corporate matters. He has represented investment banks and issuers in public and private high-yield debt, equity and equity-linked securities offerings, as well as bridge financing commitments, debt tender offers and consent solicitations, across a broad range of industries.

"Having depth at the most senior level is key to our clients," Rachel Hatfield, co-head of White & Case's European high yield practice and vice-chair of the European High Yield Association's board of directors, said in the release. "The promotion of these three partners is an illustration of our commitment to investing in top talent. With 2008 likely to be a year in which the high-yield product migrates heavily into the emerging markets, experienced advisers are going to be a significant factor in bringing deals to market."

White & Case's high yield practice advises a range of clients, spanning underwriters, issuers and sponsors, on the execution of complex high-yield transactions. Clients include Deutsche Bank, Liberty Global/UPC, Orascom and Mid Europa.

White & Case is a New York law firm.
