Prudential adds economist Campos-Ortiz to Latin American research team

By Tali Rackner

Norfolk, Va., March 31 - Prudential Fixed Income said it hired Francisco Campos-Ortiz, an economist with experience in Latin America, to its global macroeconomic research team, according to a press release.

Effective immediately, Campos-Ortiz joins Prudential after most recently working as a research economist with the Mexican Central Bank, where he authored several high-profile studies on topics such as the inflation-targeting framework and commodities and contributed to institutional publications, including the bank's Quarterly Inflation Report. Earlier, he was an instructor at Brown University.

"Francisco's central bank experience brings an important perspective to Prudential Fixed Income," chief economist Jurgen Odenius said in the release. "His insight adds depth to our research capabilities and will enhance our understanding of policy-making and its impact on local markets and sovereign ratings across Latin America."

Prudential Fixed Income is a Newark-based provider of financial products and services. It is an investment business of Prudential Financial, Inc.
