Fitch rates Furnas Centrais Eletricas BBB-

Fitch Ratings said it assigned local- and foreign-currency issuer default ratings if BBB- and national scale rating of AA(bra) to Furnas Centrais Eletricas SA.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings reflect its linkage with its parent company, Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras (Eletrobras), which is rated BBB- with stable outlook.

In the last 12 months, Furnas' revenues represented 21% of consolidated revenues and 31% of consolidated EBITDA for the Eletrobras group, Fitch said.

As a key company in the group, Furnas is exposed to government interference risks, given its parent company's status as an entity controlled by the Brazilian government, the agency added.
