Morgan Stanley plans buffered PLUS due 2020 linked to index basket

Chicago, Sept. 9 – Morgan Stanley Finance LLC plans to price 0% buffered Performance Leveraged Upside Securities due April 6, 2020 linked to a basket of four indexes, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The basket consists of the Euro Stoxx 50 index with a 40% weight, the FTSE 100 index with a 25% weight, the Nikkei 225 index with a 25% weight and the Swiss Market index with a 10% weight.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 146% to 156% of any basket gain, with the exact leverage to be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the basket falls by up to 20% and will lose 1.25% for each 1% decline beyond 20%.

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC is the agent.

The notes are guaranteed by Morgan Stanley.

The notes will price on Sept. 30 and settle on Oct. 5.

The Cusip number is 61768CAD9.
