Goldman Sachs plans airbag performance notes linked to FTSE 100

Chicago, Oct. 3 – Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 0% airbag performance securities due Oct. 31, 2018 linked to the FTSE 100 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.3 to 1.4 times any index gain. The exact participation rate will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 20% and will lose 1.25% for every 1% decline beyond 20%.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the agent.

The notes are expected to price on Oct. 28 and settle on Oct. 31.

The Cusip number is 38148F612.
