FTN Financial Capital Markets expands with public finance department

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Feb. 5 - FTN Financial Capital Markets said it has added a public finance department to the firm in order to continue its expansion into the general market municipal bond sector.

According to a press release, FTN began expanding its role by adding a dedicated municipal sales group in 2012.

As part of the expansion, the company has hired Rogelio Rodriguez for its San Antonio office and Don Henderson for its Austin, Texas, office. With a combined experience of over 40 years in Texas public finance, the new hires will focus on negotiated municipal bond transactions, such as the $88 million La Joya Independent School District, Texas, refunding issue, which was one of four transactions achieved in January.

The company also added Josh Mulholland, a 20-year veteran in institutional municipal sales, to its dedicated municipal bond sales team.

A division of Memphis-based First Tennessee Bank NA, FTN offers investment products and services.
