Fresh Del Monte draws on credit facility to help fund banana, pineapple acquisition

New York, June 9 - Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. said it drew on its revolving credit facility to help fund the acquisition of Desarollo Agroindustrial de Frutales, SA, Frutas de Exportacion, SA and an affiliated marketing company.

Of the $403 million cost, $88.5 million came from cash on hand and the remainder from a draw on the revolver.

Desarollo Agroindustrial de Frutales is a producer of bananas in Costa Rica; Frutas de Exportacion is a producer of gold pineapples in Costa Rica.
