Allied Holdings plan confirmation hearing to continue May 10

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., May 9 - Allied Holdings, Inc.'s plan of reorganization confirmation hearing will continue on May 10, according to attorneys who attended the hearing, which began Wednesday at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

The hearing will be further continued to May 11, if necessary, the attorneys said.

The company's plan of reorganization was accepted by a majority of creditors, according to a Wednesday filing with the court.

However, creditors Virtus Capital LP and Hawk Opportunity Fund, LP filed an objection to the plan on May 2.

Allied, a Decatur, Ga., distributor of new and used vehicles, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 1, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-12515.
