The June mark compares to the $42.39 million of debt securities the agency issued in June 2010.

The agency repurchased $930 million of debt securities in June after having repurchased none in May.

Freddie Mac said that $29.31 billion of debt securities matured or were redeemed during June. The amount in May was $16.49 billion.

The total amount of debt securities outstanding at the end of June was $508.06 billion, down from $508.16 billion a month earlier and $585.63 billion in June 2010.

All of the debt securities referenced above have a term of more than one year.

When debt securities with a term of one year or less are added, the total amount of debt securities outstanding at the end of June was $695.22 billion, compared with $698.86 billion at the end of May and $803.83 billion at the end of June 2010.

Also, the agency said that its total mortgage portfolio decreased at an annualized rate of 1.7% in June.
