Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae to begin trading Thursday on OTCBB under 'FMCC,' 'FNMA' tickers

By Marisa Wong

Madison, Wis., July 7 - Freddie Mac's and Fannie Mae's common stock will begin trading Thursday on the OTC Bulletin Board under the ticker symbols "FMCC" and "FNMA," respectively, according to Wednesday news releases.

Freddie Mac's 20 classes of preferred stock and Fannie Mae's 13 series of preferred stock that were previously listed on the New York Stock Exchange will also be traded on the OTCBB.

As previously reported, the companies announced in June that they would delist their common stock and classes/series of their preferred stock from the NYSE, effective July 8.

The NYSE and the Chicago Stock Exchange will suspend trading of Fannie Mae's common and preferred stock prior to the market open on Thursday, a release said.
