San Diego, Dec. 24 - The Franklin California Insured Tax-Free Income Fund and the Franklin Insured Tax-Free Income Fund are closed to all new investors, effective Jan. 18, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Existing investors in the funds may continue to invest through exchanges and additional purchases until March 1, after which time the fund will close to additional investments from existing shareholders, except for purchases made through reinvestment of dividends or capital gains distributions.

San Mateo, Calif.-based Franklin Advisers, Inc. serves as the funds' investment manager.
