Franklin Bank files $175 million shelf registration

Philadelphia, March 2 - Franklin Bank Corp. filed a $175 million shelf registration in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities, preferred stock, depositary shares, common stock, warrants and units. The securities may be structured as convertibles.

The Houston-based bank plans to use proceeds for general corporate purposes, which may include augmenting capital for use in community banking and commercial lending operations, repurchasing common stock and financing possible acquisitions of other institutions or branches.
