Fortis cancels issue of buffered notes linked to Euro Stoxx 50 via JVB

New York, May 8 - Fortis Bank canceled its planned issue of 0% buffered notes due May 28, 2013 linked to the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 index, according to an announcement by planned distributor JVB Financial.

The payout at maturity would have been 115% of any index gain. Investors would have received par for losses up to 15% and would have shared in losses beyond 15%.

The notes had been expected to price on May 22.
