Ford Motor files automatic shelf to sell securities from time to time

Chicago, May 12 - Ford Motor Co. registered to sell an unspecified amount of debt securities in an S-3ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the automatic shelf filing are senior and subordinated debt securities, preferred stock, depositary shares, common stock, warrants, purchase contracts and units.

The securities may be issued as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

The automaker is based in Dearborn, Mich.
