Ford files automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., June 2 - Ford Motor Co. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers senior debt securities, subordinated debt securities, preferred stock, depositary shares, common stock, warrants, stock purchase contracts and stock purchase units.

The debt securities and preferreds may be convertible.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Ford is a Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker.
