TowerView to withhold votes at Fisher Communications' annual meeting in support of Gamco

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., April 21 - Fisher Communications, Inc. shareholder TowerView LLC said it does not believe the company is open or willing to discuss shareholder concerns.

As a result, TowerView, a 9.5% shareholder, will withhold its votes for the election of directors at the company's annual meeting on April 30, it was reported in a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

TowerView cited a Nov. 21 letter to Fisher from fellow shareholder Gamco Asset Management Inc. asking Fisher to include in its proxy statement a proposal requiring shareholder approval for certain acquisitions.

Fisher, according to TowerView, decided not to include this proposal in the proxy statement for technical reasons.

Seattle-based Fisher Communications owns television and radio stations.
