FT 3279 offers units of its Georgetown Capital Appreciation Portfolio

Minneapolis, Dec. 30 - FT 3279 is offering units of its Georgetown Capital Appreciation Portfolio, First Quarter 2012 Series, according to an S-6 amendment filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The depositor is Wheaton, Ill.-based First Trust Portfolios LP.

The trust seeks above-average capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of common stocks that are selected by applying five specialized strategies. The trust seeks to outperform the S&P 500 Composite Stock Price Index.

On Dec. 30, the initial date of deposit, $279,828 of contracts to purchase securities comprised the trust. The 27,983 units have an initial offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.906 each. The estimated net annual distribution is $0.1877 per unit.

Each unit will carry a maximum sales charge of 0.8%, consisting of a deferred sales charge of 0.3% and a creation and development fee of 0.5%.

The trust has a mandatory termination date of March 28, 2013.
