FT 3257 combines international, information technology strategies

San Diego, Dec. 16 - FT 3257 has registered units of its two portfolios in an S-6 amendment filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The portfolios are the International Capital Strength Portfolio, Series 10 and the SMid Capital Strength Portfolio, Series 10.

The depositor is Wheaton, Ill.-based First Trust Portfolios LP.

Both trusts seek above-average capital appreciation.

The International Capital Strength Portfolio invests in international stocks with above-average potential for capital appreciation and is considered to be a large-cap growth trust.

On the initial date of deposit, Dec. 16, the portfolio consists of $136,634 in contracts to purchase securities. The 13,801 units each have a public offering price of $10 and net asset value of $9.576. The estimated net annual distribution per unit for the first year is $0.2546.

The SMid Capital Strength Portfolio is concentrated in stocks of information technology companies.

On the initial date of deposit, Dec. 16, the SMid Capital Strength Portfolio consists of $140,418 in contracts to purchase securities. The 14,184 units each have a public offering price of $10 and net asset value of $9.576. The estimated net annual distribution per unit for the first year is $0.0583.

All of the units carry a maximum sales charge of 3.95%, consisting of a 1% initial sales charge, a 2.45% deferred sales charge and a 0.5% creation and development fee. The fee may be reduced on a sliding scale to 2.45% depending on the amount of investment.

FT 3257 has a mandatory termination date of Dec. 16, 2013.
