Two First Investors Tax Exempt funds to change names in September

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, June 26 - Two First Investors funds that invest primarily in municipal securities will change their names, effective Sept. 4.

According to a 497K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the First Investors Tax Exempt Fund will become the First Investors Tax Exempt Income Fund, and the First Investors Tax Exempt Fund II will become the First Investors Tax Exempt Opportunities Fund.

The change is being made to reflect the differences in the funds' investment objectives. No changes are being made to the funds' objectives, investment strategies or risks, the filing noted.

New York-based First Investors Management Co., Inc. is the funds' investment adviser.
