S&P affirms Fiji

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed the B foreign-currency credit ratings on the Republic of the Fiji Islands.

The outlook is stable.

Ratings reflect some stabilization in Fiji's external position, although significant pressures remain, the agency said.

Ratings are constrained by persistent fiscal and current-account deficits, and sizable deficiencies in available data that complicate external analysis, S&P said.
