Fidelity Conservative Income Municipal Bond Fund gives ticker symbol

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Oct. 7 - Fidelity Municipal Trust announced in an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission the ticker symbols for its new municipal fund, the Fidelity Conservative Income Municipal Bond Fund.

The fund will trade under the symbol "FCRDX." It is expected to launch this month.

As previously noted, the fund will seek to provide a high level of income that is exempt from federal income tax, with preservation of capital as an additional objective.

The fund will normally invest at least 80% of its assets in dollar-denominated municipal money market securities and high-quality, investment-grade municipal debt securities whose interest is exempt from federal income tax. The fund, which will normally invest in securities with a maximum maturity of four years and maintain a dollar-weighted average maturity of one year or less, will be managed to have similar overall interest rate risk as the 50% Barclays 1-Year Municipal Bond / 50% iMoneyNet Tax-Free National Retail Blended index.

Doug McGinley will be the portfolio manager to the fund.

There will be no shareholder fees. Including a 0.3% management fee, total annual operating expenses are estimated at 0.4%.

Boston-based Fidelity Management & Research Co., or FMR, will serve as the fund's investment manager.
