New York Fed buys $490 million of agency bonds under purchase program

Tacoma, Wash., Dec. 21 - The Federal Reserve Bank of New York accepted and purchased $490 million of agency-issued securities with maturities from March 13, 2014 through April 18, 2016, according to its web site.

Holders submitted $1,946,000,000 of securities for purchase.

The outright agency coupon purchases will settle on Dec. 22.

Fannie Mae notes

The purchases include the following notes issued by Fannie Mae:

• $40 million of 2.75% notes due March 13, 2014;

• $3 million of 2.5% notes due May 15, 2014;

• $51 million of 4.625% notes due Oct. 15, 2014; and

• $100 million of 2.625% notes due Nov. 20, 2014.

Freddie Mac notes

The Fed also purchased the following notes issued by Freddie Mac:

• $74 million of 2.5% notes due Jan. 7, 2014;

• $79 million of 4.5% notes due Jan. 15, 2015;

• $58 million of 4.375% notes due July 17, 2015;

• $42 million of 4.75% notes due Jan. 19, 2016; and

• $43 million of 5.25% notes due April 18, 2016.

No notes issued by the Federal Home Loan Banks were purchased.
