Former Furniture Brands International secures exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 12 - FBI Wind Down, Inc., formerly Furniture Brands International, Inc., obtained a second extension of its exclusive plan of reorganization filing and solicitation periods, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive filing period was extended through Aug. 20 from April 22 and its solicitation period through Oct. 21 from June 23.

The company said it requested the extension to "continue working with the committee and other key stakeholders to confirm and consummate a consensual Chapter 11 plan."

A hearing to approve the company's disclosure statement is scheduled for May 29.

Furniture Brands, a St. Louis-based designer, manufacturer and retailer of home furnishings, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 9, 2013. The Chapter 11 case number is 13-12329.
