Former Furniture Brands posts $8.6 million loss for Oct. 27-Nov. 24

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 16 - FBI Wind Down, Inc., formerly Furniture Brands International, posted net earnings of $8.6 million for the period of Oct. 27 through Nov. 24 on net sales of $68.82 million, according to the company's monthly operating report filed Jan. 16 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Those figures compare with an $18.79 million net loss on net sales of $62.25 million for the period from Sept. 29 through Oct. 26.

The company also reported cash and cash equivalents of $17.15 million as of Nov. 24, up from $10.19 million as of Oct. 26.

Furniture Brands, a St. Louis-based designer, manufacturer and retailer of home furnishings, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 9. The Chapter 11 case number is 13-12329.
