Farmers Capital Bank files $35 million shelf registration

New York, Oct. 9 - Farmers Capital Bank Corp. filed a $35 million shelf with the Securities and Exchange Commission Friday.

Covered by the registration are common stock, preferred stock, depositary shares, warrants and units. Securities may be sold as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including the redemption of part or all of the 30,000 series A preferred shares sold to the U.S. Treasury on Jan. 9, 2009.

Farmers Capital is a Frankfort, Ky., bank holding company.
