Moody's gives Aa3 to University of Pittsburgh Medical bonds

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an Aa3 rating to $500 million of series 2008A fixed-rate bonds of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to be issued by the Allegheny County Hospital Development Authority.

The outlook is stable.

At the same time, S&P said it affirmed the Aa3 and Aa3/VMIG 1 ratings on the center's $2.3 billion of outstanding debt.

Sale of the 2008A bonds was set for March 6.
