Fitch gives Thai Ex-Import notes AAA

Fitch Ratings said it gave the Export-Import Bank of Thailand’s upcoming senior unsecured debentures to be sold under its medium-term note program AAA(tha).

“The MTN program and senior unsecured notes are rated at the same level as EXIM's national long-term rating, as they represent its unsubordinated and unsecured obligations. This is in line with Fitch's bank rating criteria and the rating approach for the bank's existing senior U.S. dollar notes, which are rated at the same level as EXIM's BBB+ long-term issuer default rating,” the agency said in a press release.

The bank plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes.

The outlook is stable.
