Chicago, March 15 – European Investment Bank priced another €500 million of 0.5% climate awareness bonds due 2037, lifting the total issue size to €1 billion
The issue priced at 83.44, in line with the outstanding EIB ECoop curve at a reoffer yield of mid swaps flat, equal to 48.6 basis points over the 4% Bund January 2037, according to a notice.
“Building a green benchmark curve in EUR is a strategic priority of EIB´s funding program. Today´s trade accomplishes this goal at the long end of the curve. Strong response of sustainable investors highlights the relevance of the exercise in broader EU policy perspective,” Eila Kreivi, director and head of capital markets department at the EIB, said in the press release.
Barclays, CA CIB, Commerzbank, JPMorgan, SEB are the joint bookrunners.
The lender for the European Union is based in Kirchberg, Luxembourg.
