Moody's assigns EADS notes A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to the €1 billion issuance of 2.375% senior unsecured notes due April 2024 by EADS Finance BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. EADS (now known as Airbus Group), which also guarantees the notes.

The notes were issued under the company's existing €3 billion medium-term note program.

The outlook remains stable.

"Like other large corporates, the company is capitalizing on attractive market conditions to raise low-cost, long-dated debt for general corporate purposes," Russell Solomon, Moody's senior vice president and lead analyst for EADS, said in a news release.

"Net proceeds from the offering will further bolster an already strong liquidity profile in support of company operations, which should continue to benefit from the current upcycle in the commercial aircraft market."
