Moody's ups Eschelon Operating to SGL-2

Moody's Investors Service said it upgraded its speculative grade liquidity rating for Eschelon Operating Co. to SGL-2 from SGL-3.

Moody's said the upgrade reflects the anticipated improvement in Eschelon's cash balances as a result of its proposed debt and preferred stock issuances, associated with the Advanced Telcom Inc. acquisition.

The rating reflects Moody's expectation that Eschelon's liquidity profile will remain "good" for at least the next 12 months and specifically that sufficient cash balances continue to be maintained to meet the company's operating and capital needs.
