Elliott Associates one step closer to acquiring Epicor Software

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 30 - The Federal Trade Commission granted early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period in Elliott Associates, LP's proposed acquisition of Epicor Software Corp., it was announced on Thursday.

An Elliott subsidiary began its $9.50-per-share cash tender offer for Epicor on Oct. 15.

The offer and withdrawal rights are scheduled to expire at 11:59 p.m. ET on Nov. 12, unless extended, it was previously reported.

Epicor's board of directors rejected Elliott's $529 million offer to acquire the company, a prior news release said.

Based in Irvine, Calif., Epicor designs, develops, markets and supports enterprise application software products.
