Alfa Corp. shareholders to decide Alfa Mutual merger on April 15

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 13 - Alfa Corp. will a hold a special meeting of stockholders on April 15 to vote on the company's proposed acquisition by a majority stockholder group that includes Alfa Mutual Insurance Co. and Alfa Mutual Fire Insurance Co.

The record date for the meeting is March 3, according to a company news release.

In November, Alfa Mutual Insurance and Alfa Mutual Fire agreed to acquire Alfa Corp. for $22 per share in cash.

Once the transaction is complete, Alfa Corp. will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Alfa Mutual group.

Alfa Corp., through its subsidiaries, offers property and casualty insurance, life insurance and financial services products. The company is based in Montgomery, Ala.
