Fitch rates CMPC sustainability notes BBB

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a BBB rating to the $500 million proposed senior sustainability-linked notes due 2031 to be issued by Inversiones CMPC SA and guaranteed by Empresas CMPC SA (CMPC).

Proceeds will be used for liability management and general corporate purposes.

Fitch currently rates CMPC's foreign currency and local currency issuer default ratings BBB/stable.

“CMPC's ratings reflect its position as the second largest market pulp producer globally and the second largest tissue producer in Latin America. The ratings are also supported by CMPC's consistently solid liquidity position, low refinancing risk and significant forestry investments,” Fitch said in a news release.
